Martin Odegaard and Helene Spilling are now married, according to reports in Norway, with the couple expecting a child in the coming months.

Norwegian outlet VG reports that Arsenal club captain Martin Odegaard has married his partner Helene Spilling.

Though neither Odegaard nor Spilling have made any public announcement of their marriage, VG report that the National Register has been updated to show that the player’s marital status is now “married”.

At the same time, Helene Spilling has officially changed her name to Helene Spilling Odegaard, so it’s not hard to connect the dots.

Fans spotted Spilling wearing a ring back in August, leading to speculation that Odegaard may have proposed to her. It seems we now have the confirmation.

As well as getting married, the couple are also expecting their first child together. The pair revealed the news at the end of August, with Odegaard writing on Instagram: “Can’t wait to meet you, our little baby”

The player then spoke to Norwegian media about the development, saying: “It’s fantastic and something I’m really looking forward to. It’s something I’ve really wanted to do in my life, so it will be great.”

It’s certainly been a busy period for Odegaard away from the football pitch, though Arsenal fans will hope that he’s not far from returning to it and playing matches again.
