Alessandro Bastoni limped off during Inter Milan’s game against Venezia on Sunday, but he should be available to face Arsenal on Wednesday.
Inter Milan were dealt an injury scare during their 1-0 win over Venezia at the weekend, with starting centre-back Alessandro Bastoni limping off the pitch in the 70th minute.
Yet despite fears of an injury that could keep the 25-year-old out of Wednesday’s match against Arsenal, FCInterNews report that the player hasn’t suffered any serious problem.
The report suggests Bastoni’s issue was just cramp, and he’ll be available for Inter when training resumes ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League match.
In another boost for Inter, Hakan Calhanoglu made his return from injury on schedule on Sunday.
Reports earlier in the weekend had suggested that Calhanoglu should be fit to return from his adductor injury against Venezia, though he was only expected to make an appearance from the bench.
The reports claimed Calhanoglu should then be fit to return to the starting lineup against Arsenal.
As predicted, Calhanoglu made a 20-minute substitute appearance on Sunday, so he’s right on track to face the Gunners.
Left-back Carlos Augusto is the one player who seems set to miss the Arsenal clash, having been out for the last few games with a muscular problem.
Augusto had only started one league game for Inter this season anyway, but he did play every minute of their Champions League campaign before his injury on Matchday 3, including the full 90 against Manchester City.
In Augusto’s absence, Federico Dimarco will likely start on the left against Arsenal.
