Where are Arsenal’s 21 released players now?

Arsenal released 21 players from their contracts with the men’s senior and academy teams this summer, let’s have a look at where they all ended up.

Early in the summer, Arsenal confirmed the release of 19 players from the men’s side of the club, with three senior players departing and a further 16 leaving from the academy teams.

That number increased by two later in the month, after Amario Cozier-Duberry and Reuell Walters both failed to reach agreements to stay at Arsenal.

Four-and-a-half months later, the vast majority of released players have now found new clubs.

Goalkeepers

Senior goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo spent last season on loan with Wrexham, and he’s now joined the club permanently.

Youth goalkeepers Noah Cooper, Ovie Ejeheri, Hubert Graczyk, and James Hillson also departed.

Cooper joined Stoke City, Ejeheri moved for Midtylland in Denmark, Graczyk stayed in the Premier League with Manchester United, and Hillson signed for Salisbury FC.

Defenders

Arsenal’s second senior player to leave the club was Cedric Soares, and Cedric remains a free agent as it stands. Youth left-back Henry Jeffcott is also still on the hunt for a new club.

Luis Brown stayed in the Premier League with West Ham United, whilst Reuell Walters dropped down a division to sign for Luton Town.

Alex Kirk signed for Sutton United, and James Sweet penned a deal with St. Albans City. Taylor Foran joined Bromley FC, but he’s now gone out on a short-term loan to Southend United.

Midfielders

The final senior player to leave Arsenal was Mohamed Elneny, and he joined Al Jazira in the UAE Pro League.

Catalin Cirjan moved back to Romania to sign for FC Dinamo, whilst Mauro Bandeira is one of the most recent players to find a new club, signing for Slovenian side NK Tabor Sezana.

Forwards

Both Omari Benjamin and Amario Cozier-Duberry got Premier League moves, joining Everton and Brighton respectively. Cozier-Duberry has since gone out on loan to Blackburn Rovers.

Tyreece John-Jules recently signed for Crawley Town, and Kamarni Ryan joined Burnley.

That leaves the two final free agents from the list, Henry Timi Davies and Kido Taylor-Hart.

As per the above, Cedric Soares, Henry Jeffcott, Henry Timi Davies, and Kido Taylor-Hart are the only remaining free agents from Arsenal’s list of released players.

Cedric recently returned to Arsenal for a visit, and Taylor-Hart spent time on trial with Cliftonville over the summer. You hope it’s just a matter of time for all four players without a club.
