Fabio Vieira has been out of action for FC Porto in the early weeks of his loan due to injury, with Porto boss Vitor Bruno giving an update this week.

Arsenal’s Fabio Vieira completed a loan move to FC Porto towards the end of August, and Porto have been in action twice since then.

The Portuguese side first played a grudge match against Sporting CP before the international break, then they faced Farense on Sunday, September 15th. But Vieira wasn’t involved in either matchday squad.

The Portuguese media have confirmed that Vieira is currently out injured, with Porto manager Vitor Bruno giving an update.

“It won’t be a concern, he’s being reassessed daily,” Bruno said of the injury (via Sport Witness).

“He’s really eager to help. He’s also brilliant at what his maximum ceiling is, the way he adapts to a new group, he comes with different habits from England.

“He brings good energy and that will help him recover as quickly as possible. Let’s hope it’s as quickly as possible.”

There’s no word yet on exactly when Vieira will be back, but if he’s being assessed day-to-day then that sounds like a positive sign.

Vieira will certainly hope so, having stressed that minutes were a key factor in his decision to go on loan.

“It was a chance that, above all, came to me because it was something I already wanted: to play,” Vieira said earlier this month.

“I had a difficult time in England, an operation, and at this moment I felt that FC Porto was a good opportunity to continue growing and developing.

“I felt that this was the right place to do it this season.”
