Arsenal‘s dynamic attacking duo, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz, are quickly forming a potent partnership, with their on-pitch chemistry proving to be a key factor in Arsenal‘s offensive success.

In the match against Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend, Saka set up Havertz for the opening goal, showcasing their growing understanding and connection.

The goal came in the 38th minute when Saka, displaying his sharp vision, skill and body strength, delivered a perfectly weighted lobbed pass over Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke.

Havertz, with his trademark movement, anticipated the ball, made a clever run behind the defence, and executed a sublime lob over Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, giving Arsenal the lead and marking Saka’s third assist of the season in just the third game.

Reflecting on their partnership after the game, Saka expressed his admiration for Havertz’s abilities and the enjoyment he gets from playing alongside the German international. “I really enjoy playing with him,” Saka said.

“He is a man who has some great movement, always in behind defenders. He is a big threat in the box, so I try to look for him. He is on fire scoring goals right now, which hopefully he can continue.”

Havertz’s goal against Brighton was his 16th in 54 appearances for Arsenal, a remarkable statistic considering it equals 50% of his goal tally from his time at Chelsea, achieved in just 38% of the games.

The German forward has been in scintillating form since the tail end of last season, with 11 of those goals and seven assists coming in his last 17 games, demonstrating his growing influence and importance in Mikel Arteta‘s system.

Saka, meanwhile, has also been in fine form, contributing three assists in the opening three games of the new season, in addition to scoring a goal as well. That takes him to four assists, and three goals, in his last seven Premier League games.
