Newcastle United have informed Alexander Isak that they aren’t considering selling him this summer, and it’s expected he won’t push for a move.

Mark Brus reports for CaughtOffside that Newcastle United have held talks with Alexander Isak, reiterating to him that they aren’t considering a summer sale.

It’s now expected that Isak won’t push for a departure this summer, and despite links to Arsenal, the Gunners are now looking at other targets.

Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed that whilst Arsenal appreciate Isak, a transfer looks difficult this summer.

John Cross of the Mirror had previously reported that Isak won’t be joining Arsenal, despite monitoring the player in the past.

Cross wrote that the Gunners are no longer interested, especially at Newcastle’s asking price of £120m.

Back in April, initial reports of Arsenal interest in Isak were met with the news that Newcastle wanted to offer him a new contract.

The striker is already under contract with his current club until 2028, but his deal contained a clause reducing his wages by up to 20% if Newcastle missed out on Champions League football.

Given Newcastle didn’t manage to sneak into the top four, Isak’s wages will now drop, but the club hope to appease him by offering a pay rise.

Isak looked to be a great option for Arsenal, with 25 goals in 40 games this season at the age of 24, and an existing relationship with Arsenal star playmaker Martin Odegaard from their time together at Real Sociedad.

But his price tag has seen the rumours fade away, and it doesn’t look at all likely that the player himself will try to force the fee down.
