Thomas Partey is set to hold talks over his future this week, with Arsenal reportedly open to selling him for a fee of over £30m.
Charles Watts reports that Thomas Partey will hold talks with Arsenal this week, when he returns from his holiday.
Partey returned to England at the weekend, and he’ll be back at London Colney in the coming days. He’ll then hold conversations with Arsenal over their plans for him, with the Gunners understood to be open to sellling him for a suitable offer.
Watts claims Partey has never told Arsenal he wants to leave, but Juventus and clubs in Saudi Arabia are keeping tabs on the situation.
Arsenal are yet to receive any formal bids, despite the reports of outside interest.
Kaya Kaynak of Football.London confirms that Arsenal are open to selling Partey, but they haven’t yet received any formal bids.
Mark Irwin reports for The S*n that whilst Arsenal are ready to listen to offers, they aren’t actively looking to sell, and they’ll only consider bids in excess of £30m.
That valuation is reportedly not considered to be a problem for the clubs in Saudi Arabia, though it remains to be seen whether Juventus would be willing to pay that much.
Previous reports from Italy had suggested Partey would prefer the move to Italy, and that Juventus would be looking to do a deal for a figure in the region of €18-20m.
Around the same time, Fabrizio Romano wrote that though Saudi approaches for Partey are concrete, they remain in the initial stages. The player’s priority is European football.
If Partey does go to Saudi Arabia, the three clubs reportedly interested in him are Al-Ahli Saudi FC, Al-Nassr FC, and Al-Khaleej.
CBS Sports report that Al-Nassr and Al-Khaleej are the more advanced of the Saudi trio, but Al-Khaleej are only offering an initial loan with an obligation to buy later.
By contrast, Al-Nassr are prepared to offer a €30m transfer fee to sign Partey on a permanent deal, so you’d imagine Arsenal would prefer to deal with them.
In terms of potential replacements, Arsenal have now agreed a deal for Declan Rice, and they also have an interest in Romeo Lavia.
