Ramsey’s potential return to Cardiff City
According to reports, Aaron Ramsey could be making an extraordinary return to his boyhood club, Cardiff City.
Since leaving Arsenal in 2019, Ramsey has had a mixed run of form and now seeks to rekindle his career after being released by Nice despite reports he had agreed a new contract.
Ramsey’s tenure at Nice was not without its challenges; the Welsh captain only scored one goal in 34 Ligue 1 appearances.
Cardiff City coach Erol Bulu on Ramsey’s possible arrival
Talks about his potential move to Cardiff City have been fuelled by coach Erol Bulu’s recent comments.
While not revealing much about their chances of landing the Welsh captain, Bulu hinted at news to come in the near future, adding intrigue to the rumours.
“I will tell you more next week if we can get to sign some players, so then you will know,” he told reporters.
Following a 4-2 defeat to Armenia in June, a game which saw a disappointing performance from Wales, Bulu met with Ramsey.
The Cardiff City coach, however, stated he attended the match only to watch Ramsey play.
“I met him in the stadium when he was playing against Armenia,” Bulu added. “I saw him play, that’s it.
“Maybe. Maybe I’m going to meet him following this. We will see, we never know.”
Ramsey’s career since leaving Arsenal
Ramsey’s time in football since leaving Arsenal has been a journey of ups and downs.
After a successful stint in north London, his performance dipped following a move to Juventus and subsequent loans to Rangers and Nice.
Despite lifting a Serie A, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa Italiana during his time in Turin, his average playtime was a mere 46 minutes per game.
