Arsenal youngster Chido Obi was involved in a number of goals for the Denmark u16s at the Montaigu Tournament, which came to an end this week.
One of the most prestigious u16 events in football, the Montaigu Tournament took place over the last couple of weeks, concluding on Monday.
The Denmark u16s were one of 16 international sides to take part, with Arsenal’s Chido Obi called up for the event.
Obi kicked off his participation at the tournament with a goal and a couple of assists in a 7-0 thrashing of Saudi Arabia, with the goal highlights available below.
Obi later scored for Denmark against the Czech Republic, to make it four individual goal contributions in their five games.
Denmark ended up finishing sixth of the 16 teams overall, with England winning the event.
Obi reportedly had the option to play for England, before opting to represent Denmark instead. But you doubt he’ll be too disappointed to see his alternative national side lifting the trophy, as he got good minutes and played an important role for Denmark.
At this stage of a youth player’s career, just playing regularly in competitive youth fixtures is positive enough.
