Arsenal youth striker Chido Obi reportedly turned down the England u16s to represent Denmark at the Montaigu Tournament in April.

Arsenal youngster Chido Obi is eligible for England, Denmark, and Nigeria, leading to a battle for his international future.

Obi previously represented Denmark at u16 level, scoring against Belgium in October.

But he then seemed to switch allegiances to England in February, joining their u16 side for a trio of friendlies that included a match against Denmark.

There’s been another twist this week, however, with Obi returning to the Denmark u16s with a call-up for the Montaigu Tournament.

Both England and Denmark are competing in the prestigious youth event, and Danish Scout reports that England also wanted to include Obi in their squad.

The striker apparently turned them down and opted for Denmark instead.

Despite his age – he’ll only turn 16 in November – Obi has already represented Arsenal at u18 level on a couple of occasions this season.

The tall teenager certainly doesn’t look out of his depth physically in an older age group, and that has likely helped him as well.
