The two teams went head-to-head with a 12.15 kick-off at Leigh Sports Village.

A second half goal from Vivianne Miedema, ensuring she becomes the first player in league to have scored against every team she has faced and a Kate McCabe penalty sealed the points.

McCabe also moved into 3rd place in the list of Arsenal’s all-time assist makers:

  • 35 Carney
  • 34 Mead
  • 29 McCabe
  • 28 Kirby, Nobbs, Williams
  • 27 Miedema

Arsenal also managed to hit the woodwork a couple of times:

Leigh Williamson was, of course, missing due to the significant hamstring injury she picked up that is likely to keep her out for the rest of the calendar year.

Kim Little was subbed off at halftime with tightness in her groin.

The game was live on BBC Two, The FA Player and BBC iPlayer.

The Arsenal team in full:

Zinsbeger, Maritz, Wubben-Moy, Beattie, Catley, Walti, Maanum, Little, Mead, Miedema, McCabe.
