Kieran Tierney provided a hat-trick of assists for Scotland in their final game of the international break against the Faroe Islands on Wednesday.
Some Arsenal fans were less than pleased to see Kieran Tierney in the starting lineup for Scotland for the third time in a week on Wednesday, but the full-back fully justified his selection with a fantastic performance.
Tierney was actually playing a left-centre-back on the day, but he often pushed up to help Andy Robertson at wing-back. That was what led to the opening goal, as he made an overlapping run and picked up possession before cutting back for John McGinn to score.
The same combination led to the second goal as well. This time Tierney stood up the defender before pushing it past him and floating a cross in for McGinn to head home.

Tierney then completed an unlikely hat-trick of assists for Scotland’s third goal. This time it was a ball through the lines that Che Adams spun on before firing into the net from distance for 3-0.

Scotland added a fourth, before Tierney came off after 79 minutes for a little bit of a break.
As well as his creative efforts, Tierney also won all four of his individual duels and made a couple of interceptions to protect his team’s clean sheet. He’ll now return to London ahead of Arsenal’s weekend clash with Liverpool.
