Thomas Partey has sent a message to Arsenal fans for their welcome even though the midfielder hasn’t even arrived at the club.

Thomas was a dramatic deadline day signing and with Arsenal screwing over Atletico Madrid it feels like the transfer represents more than just one of the best midfielder’s in Europe signing for the club.

It was another note in the freshly penned Arsenal book entitled ‘No longer to be bullied’.

Currently on international duty with Ghana, Thomas will have to wait to meet up with his teammates but it’s safe to say we’re all excited to see what he brings to North London so no doubt they are too.

“Hi guys, thanks so much for the love and for the message I have received. I can’t wait to be part of you guys, I can’t wait to join the team”, he said on Twitter.

“It’s a great feeling to be part of a family like this. Thanks so much to everyone for the love, I feel so grateful and I feel so amazed to be part of you. I can’t wait to join you guys.

“And don’t forget, no Thomas, No Partey!’

Thomas started for Ghana on Friday evening as they lost 3-0 to Mali in a friendly. He played the full 90 minutes. The Ghana FA wrote in their match report, “Thomas Partey, Alexander Djiku and Bernard Mensah appeared very heavy and delicate as they lost almost every onslaught from the Mali trio Cheick Doucoure, Fofana Mamadou Haidara Amadou and Toni Kevin.”

Ghana face Qatar on Monday in another friendly. It will take place in Turkey at the Titanic sports complex in Antalya on 12 October.
