Arsenal won their fourth game in a row, with yet another cleansheet, as they beat Wolves 2-0 thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka and Alexandre ‘what is an away goal’ Lacazette.

Not only did the Frenchman score his first domestic goal away from home in over 18 hours of football but Arsenal managed their first away win over a side above them in the table at the start of play since September 2015.

It was also the first time they had won two games in a row, away from home, with a cleansheet since October 2015.

There is no denying those are some pretty awful stats, although it’s not like we were under any illusions we were any good away from home.

We weren’t often that good at home either, if we’re honest about it.

While we’re here, Mikel Arteta has taken charge of 16 Premier League games for Arsenal, one less than Unai Emery before he was shown the door.

Emery won five of his 17, drawing seven and losing five.

Arteta has won seven, drawn six and lost three.

The difference in goals scored v goals conceded is Emery -4 (24 scored, 28 conceded) and Arteta + 12 (25 scored, 13 conceded).

In other words, Arsenal would need to lose their next game 16-0 for Arteta to match Emery’s goal difference for the season (league).

And Arteta would still have won more matches.
