He hardly gets any minutes, but Arsenal are reportedly set to offer Joel Campbell a new contract before deciding if they will send him back out on loan.

With Lukas Podolski already allowed to leave the club on loan, Yaya Sanogo seemingly set to leave temporarily as well, surely Arsenal couldn’t let a third striker leave the club, could they?
According to reports coming out of Spain via a Dario AS journalist very close to Real Sociedad, the Spanish side and David Moyes, as we reported on Saturday, are keen to bring the Costa Rican to Spain.
Arsenal, however, have already turned down approaches from Benfica, Stoke, and AC Milan and the hierarchy at Real Sociedad feel they will be rebuffed as well.
But they also feel it is not totally hopeless.
Hoping to take advantage of the good relations in place due to previous deals struck between the two clubs, the journalist claims that Arsenal will offer a new deal to Campbell and then, their investment protected, look at the possibility of letting him leave on loan in January.
The Dario AS journalist, Roberto Ramajo, said
“In Spain it is complicated by the position of Arsenal, especially because their intention is not to let him leave, as we know. The advantage is that Sociedad has a very good relationship with them.
“It would be a very good signing for two reasons: he is the kind of player that Real need in the team, as well as for the style of play of David Moyes in which rapid transitions are needed.
“He would be the player to do that kind of work.”
Campbell, who signed for Arsenal in 2011 is out of contract in 2016.
