TuttoMercatoWeb report that Arsenal have placed a €25m bid to sign Meunier from PSG, inclusive of bonuses. They claim Unai Emery is personally pushing the move for his former player.

This is further to earlier reports this week from the Daily Mail that Arsenal were in talks with PSG for the 27-year-old right-back, who can also play right-midfield. That report suggested Arsenal were looking to seal the deal for around £20m, whilst PSG want £30m, so perhaps €25m (£22.1m) was an attempt at a compromise.

Meunier made 31 appearances for PSG this season, scoring five goals and providing seven assists. He had to contend with a concussion and a couple of minor injuries in 2019, which severely limited his game time in the second half of the campaign. Nonetheless, he still started most games when he was fit.

The Belgian international is strong going forward creating chances, and he’s also good in the air, standing at 6’2″. There have been some questions around the defensive side of his game this season though, which Arsenal already have enough of.
