The Arsenal u16s have reached the final of the Premier League u16 Cup, and fans will be able to attend the match for free at Meadow Park next week.

Arsenal announced on Saturday that the final against Chelsea would be open for fans to attend on Friday 15th March at 7pm, with free entry at Meadow Park, Boreham Wood FC. That’s the same ground where most of Arsenal’s u23 matches take place, and where the Arsenal first team were 8-0 winners in pre-season.

Here are the young side’s results so far in the competition:

  • Group Stage – Everton – 4-2 victory
  • Group Stage – Fulham – 5-4 defeat
  • Group Stage – West Brom – 2-1 victory
  • Quarter-Finals – Liverpool – 1-0 victory
  • Semi-Finals – Brighton – 3-1 victory
  • Final – Chelsea – 15th March

Yunus Musah has been the star of the team, scoring in both group stage victories as well as the recent semi-final. Followers of the u18s will already know about the 16-year-old, as he’s been playing in the higher age group a lot this campaign. The midfielder has three goals and two assists at u18 level.

Then Miguel Azeez is also likely to feature, another 16-year-old playing above his age with the u18s on many occasions this campaign. Another midfielder, he has a goal and two assists for the u18s and appeared along with Musah from the bench in the recent 3-0 victory over Chelsea.

Both youngsters have also been impressing in the national team setup this campaign. Musah has made eight appearances for the England u17s this season, scoring twice and assisting twice. Meanwhile, Azeez has made seven appearances and provided two assists of his own.

Kido Taylor-Hart is a third player to keep an eye on. He scored the winner in the u16 quarter-final victory over Liverpool and added another in the semi-final against Brighton. He’s appeared for the u18s once this campaign, scoring in a 10-minute substitute appearance against Aston Villa.
