Aaron Ramsey believes that referee Bobby Madley made the right decision in awarding Arsenal a penalty against West Brom on Monday night.
Rambo was brought down in the second half against West Brom by Allan Nyom and Madley awarded a penalty, which the midfielder feels was the right decision.
Alexandre Lacazette was the man to strike the ball home, hitting low and hard into bottom right corner. Ben Foster went the right way but couldn’t quite get his finger-tips to the ball.
Speaking after the match, Rambo was rather complimentary of his new French teammate, who also scored a brilliant poacher’s header in the first half.
Although Rambo has been heavily criticised for his performance against Tony Pulis’s side, he made some fantastic runs off the ball and I feel that, as usual, people are coming down way too hard on him.
The 26-year-old wasn’t dispossessed once, had a shot on target and completed 77% of his passes. Granted, this is far lower than his average of 89% last term but not a complete disaster.
He was playing in a more advanced role to usual, right behind Lacazette, so he may need to adjust.
Lacazette, on the other hand, as Rambo says, was fantastic.
