Ex-Arsenal midfielder, Emmanuel Frimpong, claims that he’s used to people hating him.
- Frimpong left Arsenal for good in 2014
- He signed for AFC Eskilstuna in February 2017
- Fans unhappy as Swedish club faces relegation
- AFC Eskilstuna changed location, name and identity in 2016
- Midfielder has five appearances and one assist for new team
Frimpong, 25, rose through the ranks at Arsenal. However, he wasn’t good enough, and his jovial, cocky attitude began to annoy fans.
He spent time on loan at Wolves, Charlton and Fulham but still couldn’t break into Arsenal’s first team and was finally sold to Barnsley in 2014.
The midfielder has since spent short spells at Ufa, Arsenal Tula, and, since February of this year, Swedish side, AFC Eskilstuna.
Unfortunately for Frimpong, his new side are currently at the bottom of their league (Allsvenskan) with just three points from eight games played, something the fans aren’t too happy about.
“I’m used to people hate me. I do not know why,” Frimpong admitted.
When asked whether people hated him personally, he replied, “No no no. It’s the team. I do not even know why.”
He added, “I do not even know why people are angry at us.
“The fans sing very bad things about us and our president. If a person owns a club, for me it is nothing strange.
“But everyone has their opinion and they are entitled to it.
“I just do not understand why they have to be so nasty.”
Finally, a club that has it worse than Arsenal…
