Kristopher da Graca is still weighing up his options, as shown by his latest trial with Premier League side Crystal Palace.

The 19-year-old Swedish defender is out of contract in the summer and has featured for a few clubs during trial periods.

Genoa and BK Häcken are two of the sides he has played with and although it seemed he was set for a return to his homeland, he is still keeping options open and could also remain in one of Europe’s top leagues.

It’s hard for youngsters, especially those coming through a club’s academy, to break into the first-team and opportunities are usually limited. It’s unsurprising that the teenager has taken his time to manage options available to him, especially given just how highly-rated he is.

Linked with a surprise move to PSG earlier in the season, injuries and a lack of minutes have affected his level of development in recent seasons – but he hasn’t let that demotivate him from trying to secure his long-term future away from Arsenal, now it’s clear that he’s not content with his playing opportunities.

As for his trial period in south London, it hasn’t got off to the best start. Unfortunately for da Graca, a break-down in communication between himself and goalkeeper Kleton Perntreou saw an attempted backpass trickle into the back of the net.

Palace u23s have only won four matches since the start of 2017 in the Professional Development League and defensively, have struggled against various opposition. Their final league fixture of the campaign is a home game against Bristol City next Tuesday and da Graca will be hoping to make amends, should he start once more.

Whether he ultimately signs a professional deal with them in the summer remains to be seen.
