Lyon president, Jean-Michel Aulas, has confirmed that the Ligue 1 club turned down a €50m bid for Alexandre Lacazette from West Ham this summer.
The striker, who appears to now be injured, was heavily linked with moves to Arsenal and West Ham, with both now reportedly making bids.
The Gunners, as we all know, had a bid of €35m turned down by the French club, which they felt the need to publicise via their Twitter account. However, they did imply that if we bid €48m, we might be a bit more successful.
We didn’t.
Now, Aulas claims that West Ham bid €50m and they turned that down too.
“We turned down a bid of €50 million from West Ham on Lacazette,” he said to French TV station, SFR.
“We have even turned down even more for Alexandre Lacazette this year.”

Good for them. They obviously feel that the 25-year-old is worth a lot more than Arsenal or West Ham do.
