There’s been plenty of movement involving Arsenal-linked wingers this week, with Leandro Trossard departing for Besiktas and the Gunners agreeing a deal to sign Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge.

But that might not be the last of this week’s winger transfer news, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Arsenal are also working on the signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.

Discussions are reportedly already proceeding on personal terms, and Arsenal are informed on Villa’s valuation of the player. Rogers is open to joining Arsenal, and he’s waiting for club-to-club talks to advance.

Romano adds that Villa have already started working on signing a new top winger, hinting that they may be expecting Rogers to depart in the end.

Ben Jacobs reports that Arsenal are set to bid for Rogers after talks with the player and his club, and negotiations are expected to accelerate following the World Cup.

England will play their final game at the tournament on Saturday, June 18th, after which Rogers will begin his summer holidays.

The 23-year-old provided an assist in England’s semi-final defeat to Argentina earlier this week, having also been involved in the winning goal against Norway in the previous round.

Rogers scored 14 goals and assisted another 12 for Villa in 2025/26, prompting the current interest in him. Whether Arsenal will get close enough to Villa’s £130m valuation to convince them to sell remains to be seen.
