Arsenal have confirmed that they’ve reached a transfer agreement with Besiktas for Leandro Trossard, with a further update to follow later.

Arsenal have confirmed on their club website that they’ve reached an agreement with Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard, adding that the player has been granted permission to travel to Istanbul for his medical and to complete the move.
Arsenal add that a further update will be provided once the transfer has been completed.

Unlike in many other European countries, Turkish clubs tend to welcome new players in a very public manner, with fans able to greet their new signing at the airport.
Arsenal likely felt the best way to deal with that was to confirm the transfer agreement themselves, even though the move won’t be formally finalised until after the player’s medical and contract signing.
Assuming everything goes to plan on that front, it shouldn’t be too long before Arsenal provide the full confirmation of the transfer.

Trossard will reportedly sign a three-year deal with the option of a fourth, for a salary around €7m (£6m) per year.
Besiktas have a €20m (£17.1m) agreement with Arsenal to sign Trossard, with €18m due upfront and another €2m in potential add-ons.
