Emmanuel Mbemba appears set to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his youth contract this summer, and Arsenal have made an approach to the player.

Benjamin Quarez reports for Le Parisien that Arsenal are active on the case of Paris Saint-Germain youngster Emmanuel Mbemba, who is also drawing interest from PSG’s local rivals Paris FC.
PSG have offered Mbemba his first professional contract to stay with them, but he reportedly seems set to leave at the end of the season.
Le Parisien claim Arsenal are the latest club to present their project to Mbemba, having scouted him several times through the season.

One complication is that Mbemba doesn’t currently have enough work permit points to play in England.
Arsenal are considering an initial loan for Mbemba to another league, and several clubs have been contacted about the possibility. But Paris FC also haven’t given up yet.
18-year-old Mbemba has been playing in defence for the PSG youth teams this season, representing the u19s in domestic football and the UEFA Youth League.

The teenager’s defensive versatility is a draw, as he’s capable of playing at left-back or centre-back. Mikel Arteta has shown a clear preference for defenders who can fill multiple roles in the squad, and Mbemba is seemingly another.
From the sounds of things, Mbemba wouldn’t be playing for Arteta’s first-team anytime soon, but the Gunners are making a push to bring him in for the future.
