Jurrien Timber is progressing in contract talks with Arsenal, and the club are confident of tying him to a long-term extension in north London.

Football insider Hand of Arsenal reports that Arsenal are now confident that Jurrien Timber will sign a long-term extension with the club this summer, with talks having progressed “excellently” on a new deal.
The same source adds that Arsenal have been trying to manage Timber back to fitness from his groin injury, with optimism that he’ll feature again this season. He is understood to be seeing a specialist in the hope of making further progress on that front.

Simon Collings reported in December that Arsenal were confident of extending Timber’s contract, with talks understood to be progressing well.
The two parties have been in conversations for a while, with initial talks opening earlier this season, and Timber’s current deal doesn’t expire until 2028.
Despite having another two years to run, Arsenal have been keen to reward Timber’s strong form when fit.
Fabrizio Romano claimed in October that the player himself was keen on signing a longer-term contract, with negotiations simply centring on the pay rise he would receive.

After signing for Arsenal in 2023, Timber had a less than ideal start to life with his new club due to suffering a serious ACL injury.
The defender spent most of the 2023/24 campaign out injured, but he’s made himself a regular starter since then. Only his recent groin issue has prevented him making the Arsenal lineup on a consistent basis, and it’s likely he returns to that lineup once he’s fit again.
