Josh Kroenke has spoken about Arsenal’s summer transfer plans and his role at the club, after he and his father attended the team’s Premier League trophy lift on Sunday.

Stan and Josh Kroenke of Arsenal ownership group Kroenke Sports & Entertainment were in attendance for the Gunners’ Premier League trophy lift on Sunday, bringing the trophy out onto the pitch and shaking hands with the players.
But after the presentation, Josh Kroenke spoke to the media about Arsenal’s plans for the summer.
“The business never stops,” Josh admitted. “Right now, there are already other teams who are trying to strengthen and come at us for next season.
“We need to be aware of that. We’ve already had a few different conversations about different areas where we think we can improve on and off the pitch.
“I am looking forward to getting that going this summer but it’s going to be an interesting one because of the World Cup. Fortunately, everyone is coming to the United States so I don’t have to travel.”

Josh Kroenke is generally the face of Arsenal’s ownership group, but when questioned about his role, Kroenke junior was quick to insist that his father Stan remains the true owner of the club.
“My father [Stan] is the owner of the club, everyone calls me owner at times and I say my father still owns the club last time I checked and I’m just trying to be his eyes and ears.
“When I’m over I’m really just trying to take stock of everything from a holistic level, the culture of the club who is doing what.
“From my point I’m plugging into the board, we’ve got great people leading right into Mikel [Arteta] and Andrea [Berta].
“When you have Mikel and Andrea overseeing all of our sporting side like they have and then our players, I can’t say enough about them. They’ve been put together over a period of time and they’ve grown together.”

Arsenal’s owners should view this summer as a real opportunity to make a statement. The team are Premier League champions and Champions League finalists, with all the financial bonuses associated with going the distance in the two competitions.
The club could rest on their laurels and simply enjoy the success of the 2025/26 campaign, or they could continue to strengthen and capitalise on their current position to achieve even more.
Josh Kroenke’s comments about looking to improve again in the summer are encouraging, but after Saturday’s Champions League final, the Kroenkes need to back up those words with action in the market.
