Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed their squad to face Arsenal, with five players returning from injury or illness but four others left out.
PSG have now confirmed their 22-player squad to face Arsenal on Tuesday night, with a few notable inclusions or exclusions.
Starting with the players who are involved, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Marco Asensio, Desire Doue, Vitinha, and Nuno Mendes have all returned to the squad after missing PSG’s last game or games.
Donnarumma was struggling with muscle discomfort and had missed PSG’s last four matches, but he’s now in contention to face Arsenal.
Asensio is making his comeback from a thigh injury after two games out, Doue is returning from an ankle problem after missing one game, and Vitinha has also just recovered from a one-game ankle issue.
As for Mendes, he’d been absent last week with a virus, but he was always expected to be back for this one.
That leads us to the absentees. Goncalo Ramos (ankle injury), Lucas Hernandez (ACL injury), and Presnel Kimpembe (Achilles injury) are all out for the long term, and none of them were ever in contention to play in this match.
The big news is that Ousmane Dembele has also been left out, though this isn’t due to injury.
Dembele fell out with PSG boss Luis Enrique after their last match, and he’s been dropped as a disciplinary measure.
The PSG squad in full is as follows: Donnarumma, Hakimi, Marquinhos, Fabian, Asensio, Doue, Vitinha, Lee Kang-In, Kolo Muani, Mayulu, Nuno Mendes, Barcola, Zaire-Emery, Beraldo, Skriniar, Safonov, Zague, El Hannach, Mbaye, Pacho, Arnau Tenas, Joao Neves.
It’s worth mentioning that not every player travelling is necessarily fully fit to start.
PSG will train again in London on Monday, and it’s possible one or two players have been included in the hope that they’ll be ready, rather than the expectation that they will be.
