Ousmane Dembele has been left out of PSG’s squad travelling to London on Monday to face Arsenal, though Vitinha has returned to the group.
Arsenal have received a bit of a boost ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Paris Saint-Germain, with Fabrice Hawkins reporting that manager Luis Enrique has decided to leave Ousmane Dembele out of his travelling squad.
Dembele is not injured, and as one of PSG’s key starters, you’d expect him to be on the plane.
But L’Equipe report that after receiving criticism for certain decisions in his performance at the weekend, Dembele and Enrique had a serious argument that the coach did not appreciate.
As a result, Enrique decided to leave Dembele out as a disciplinary action.
In better news for PSG, Vitinha has returned to the group following his recent absence. He was a doubt for this game, but it now seems he’ll make it back in time.
Though with no positive update on Desire Doue, it’s likely Doue is set to miss out with his ankle injury.
Nuno Mendes has been suffering with a virus, forcing him to take a rest day this week, but you’d imagine he’d be back for the Arsenal game after missing Friday’s match against Rennes.
Marco Asensio is another player working on recovering from a muscle injury, and he’s also a doubt to face Arsenal.
Goncalo Ramos (ankle injury), Lucas Hernandez (ACL injury), and Presnel Kimpembe (Achilles injury) are all longer-term absentees set to miss the Arsenal game.
Gianluigi Donnarumma has missed PSG’s last four games, including their Champions League opening day 1-0 win over Girona, but he is expected to be fit for Arsenal.
Though Dembele will miss the match, PSG have another in-form winger in Bradley Barcola.
The 22-year-old has six goals in seven games for PSG this season, and he’s capable of playing anywhere across the front line.
