Arsenal hopeful of retaining promising winger Amario Cozier-Duberry

Arsenal remain optimistic about persuading academy starlet Amario Cozier-Duberry to remain at the club, despite a tempting offer from Premier League rivals Newcastle United. This is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 18-year-old, who joined Arsenal in 2019, has been a key figure for Mehmet Ali’s under-21 side this season. His impressive 13 goals and five assists in 23 appearances highlight his potential.

Cozier-Duberry has been tipped for a successful career and is also reportedly attracting interest from clubs across Europe, including Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Scotland, and Spain.

Cozier-Duberry’s current contract with Arsenal is set to expire at the end of the season, causing uncertainty about his future. While he was included on the bench for five senior matches last season, he hasn’t received the same level of first-team opportunities this campaign. This could lead him to question his pathway to the senior squad, especially with Saka firmly established in his position.

Newcastle’s pursuit

Reports indicate that Newcastle United are in advanced talks with Cozier-Duberry’s representatives regarding a potential summer transfer.

Arsenal’s challenge

To retain the talented winger, Arsenal may need to present him with an attractive financial offer and a plan for his development, potentially including a suitable loan arrangement for next season. Since his contract is expiring, Arsenal would be entitled to compensation if he chooses to join another club.

Premier League 2 recognition

Cozier-Duberry’s recent form has earned him recognition. He’s been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for April after contributing five goals and assists in four appearances. He also scored twice against Manchester United in the Premier League 2 play-off quarter-finals.

The ongoing negotiations between Arsenal and Cozier-Duberry’s representatives will be crucial in determining his future and whether the Gunners can hold on to this exciting player.
