The transfer saga surrounding Besiktas’ Semih Kılıçsoy has shifted gears dramatically.

While Tottenham Hotspur were considered frontrunners, the 18-year-old attacker is now reportedly a top target for both Arsenal and Manchester City, potentially throwing the transfer race wide open.

Tottenham Hotspur’s long-rumoured interest in Besiktas’ teenage sensation Semih Kılıçsoy looks increasingly under threat. Reports suggest the North London club’s hopes of securing the young forward are fading with Arsenal and Manchester City now circling the in-demand teenage striker.

Turkish publication Sabah claims both Premier League giants have deployed scouts to watch Besiktas. That interest comes amidst reports suggesting Besiktas are hoping to spark a bidding war for the 18-year-old. Borussia Dortmund’s continued interest in Kılıçsoy means it’s already a crowded field for his signature.

“That’s the kind of situation Besiktas will be keen on and they’ll hope an auction scenario can develop. Whether that would put off Tottenham isn’t clear, but the more clubs become interested, the less chance there is of a good deal,” reports Sport Witness.

Kılıçsoy is a versatile attacking threat who burst onto the scene this season for Besiktas. He can operate through the middle of the attack or drift out wide. His ability to play across the front line undoubtedly appeals to a range of top clubs.

The Turkish youngster has already shown his goalscoring ability, netting 10 times for Besiktas this season, with four goals coming from the centre-forward position, five from the left wing and one from the right wing.
