The u17 European Championships takes place in Cyprus this summer, with the tournament kicking off on May 20th and the final taking place on June 5th.

Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri is set to represent England at the tournament, with Chido Obi-Martin representing Denmark. Neither call-up is confirmed yet, but they’ve both been involved as key starters in recent international breaks.

Myles Lewis-Skelly often plays alongside Nwaneri with the England youth teams, but in this case he’s just the wrong side of the age limit, born in September 2006 with a cut-off of January 2007.

As for Nwaneri and Obi-Martin, we now know which teams both young Gunners will face in the group stages.

It’s fair to say England have been handed something of a group of death, with three major footballing nations to beat. Only the top two from each group progress to the quarter-finals, so there will be no room for error against some tough opponents.

England face France on Tuesday, May 21st, Portugal on Friday, May 24th, and Spain on Monday, May 27th, with all three games taking place at 18:30 BST.

Denmark will face Wales on Monday, May 20th, Croatia on Thursday, May 23rd, and Austria on Sunday, May 26th. All three games are at 16:00 BST.
