Fabrizio Romano reports that Cedric Soares will leave Arsenal on a free transfer this summer, with the decision having been made in March.

Romano adds that Cedric will remain fully committed until then, but he’s not planning to extend his stay in north London.

A number of European clubs are reportedly considering Cedric as an option for a summer transfer.

In the January transfer window, Cedric was linked with a couple of clubs, with Galatasaray particularly hopeful of completing a permanent deal for him.

Galatasaray were reportedly one of a few Turkish clubs interested in the player, and they were the frontrunners until they signed Serge Aurier from Nottingham Forest.

But even when it looked like a deal might happen, Cedric was only expected to command a minimal fee due to his expiring contract.

When the transfer didn’t go through, it seemed somewhat inevitable that Cedric would be completing a free transfer exit, and Romano claims that’s now a certainty.

The 32-year-old right-back has made five appearances for Arsenal this season (191 minutes), with his only start coming in the dead-rubber game at the end of the Champions League group stage. He has not even been in the squad for the last two games against Man City and Luton Town.

Cedric is now valued at around €2m.
