There’s a real possibility Eddie Nketiah will leave Arsenal this summer, with Premier League and Bundesliga clubs particularly interested.

Fabrizio Romano reports in his Daily Briefing that Eddie Nketiah’s Arsenal future is up in the air, and there’s a real possibility he’ll leave the club this summer.

Romano claims Nketiah could be used to make way for a new striker in the upcoming window, with Arsenal prioritising a signing in the position.

The Italian journalist adds that Nketiah’s situation remains open, with no concrete decisions made yet.

But there’s long-running interest from clubs in the Premier League and the Bundesliga, and Romano suggests those are the leagues to watch in Nketiah’s case.

In February, John Cross of the Mirror highlighted Nketiah as one of a few “possible big-name departures” from Arsenal this summer, with the Gunners looking to raise funds through sales to reinvest in the squad.

The Gunners’ business in 2023 was partly funded by the likes of Folarin Balogun, Granit Xhaka, Matt Turner, Auston Trusty, and Pablo Mari leaving for decent fees, and it will need to be more of the same this year.

Arsenal can’t afford to keep up with the top clubs and avoid any breaches of the Profit and Sustainability Rules without bringing in some money for the outcasts in their existing squad.

Arsenal wanted £40m to sell Nketiah in January, though that valuation was likely somewhat influenced by the difficulties the club would have faced in replacing him mid-season.

At the time, Crystal Palace and West Ham United were interested in the striker.

Nketiah has played 33 times for Arsenal this season, and he has a contract lasting until 2027.
