Athletic Club have sealed a summer deal for Alvaro Djalo, with the winger suggested to be a potential replacement for Arsenal target Nico Williams.

Reports from earlier this week suggested that Athletic Club and Braga had agreed a deal for the transfer for Alvaro Djalo, with Athletic to pay €15m plus a potential €5m in bonuses for the winger on a contract to 2029.

Fabrizio Romano claims the deal is now sealed, with the documents signed ahead of the player’s transfer in July.

Romano adds that the move will become official next week.

It certainly looks as though the Spanish side are preparing for Nico Williams’ departure this summer.

Like Djalo, Williams plays on the left wing, and he’s been in excellent form this season.

The 21-year-old has scored six goals and provided 11 assists in 27 appearances for Athletic Club, most recently providing a goal and an assist against Atletico Madrid to help his team into the Copa del Rey final.

With Williams’ strong form, it’s no surprise that a number of top clubs have been linked with his signature.

John Cross of the Mirror recently reported that Arsenal scouts have been watching the winger, and he appears to be on their summer shortlist.

The player’s contract contains a release clause, but his club have declined to reveal it publicly. If Arsenal are willing to activate it, it would be entirely up to Williams himself whether to make the move.
