Sacha Boey is set to miss Bayern Munich’s clash against Arsenal through injury, but Manuel Neuer is likely to return in time for the match.

Bayern Munich have had some bad luck with injuries over the last couple of weeks, with Sacha Boey, Manuel Neuer, and Harry Kane all picking up new problems.

As we covered earlier this week, Kane is likely to be fit in time for the Arsenal tie next month, with the striker now ruled out of England’s next game on Tuesday but not expected to miss much longer.

Neuer is reportedly in a similar situation, despite Bayern initially revealing that he’d suffered a muscle tear.

Bayern confirmed that Neuer had torn a muscle in his left adductor in training, and he’d return from international duty. But Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann then told the media it’s “just a muscle fibre tear”, and “Manuel will be out for 10 days”.

With Bayern’s first leg against Arsenal still over two weeks away, Neuer has plenty of time to get fit for that match.

It seems Boey won’t be so lucky. Bayern have confirmed a torn hamstring, and Bild report that the defender is set to miss six weeks of action.

That would rule the 23-year-old out of both legs of the Arsenal tie, given that even the second leg is less than four weeks away.

Boey had been repeatedly linked with Arsenal before joining Bayern, albeit that the links never seemed to be particularly substantial.

If there really was anything to the rumours, Boey might have looked to show Arsenal what they were missing in the Champions League quarter-final tie. Now he won’t get that chance.
