Jorginho’s time at Arsenal could be drawing to a close, as his agent, Joao Santos, actively explores potential transfer options for the midfielder.

While Arsenal holds an option to extend Jorginho’s contract, rumours indicate a possible return to Serie A.

Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos, continues to keep the midfielder’s options open for the summer. While Arsenal remains Jorginho’s priority, his agent hints at potential interest from several Italian clubs, including Lazio, Juventus, Napoli, AC Milan, and Inter.

Despite Arsenal‘s option to extend Jorginho’s contract by another year, the decision is still pending, although there have been rumours lately that Arsenal do plan to take up this option. This has led to speculation about a potential return to Italy.

Santos, however, also acknowledges that the Italian transfer market is currently ‘slow’, with limited interest from major Serie A teams.

“In Serie A I would see him better at Lazio due to the presence of [Maurizzio] Sarri who knows his characteristics very well,” Santos told Milan Live.

“Of course, also at Juventus where there is a great sporting director like [Cristiano] Giuntoli with whom he lived good years at Napoli.

“I don’t even rule out a return to the blue team [Napoli] with the new coach [Francesco] Calzona who previously worked with Maurizio Sarri. But, by force and tradition, I don’t rule out Milan and Inter where anyone would like to play.

“We will evaluate every proposal that comes to the table. But the priority is the renewal with Arsenal because he gets along very well with everyone, but with his contract expiring we hope the team that wants what is best for him arrives.

“On the return to Italy the market is a bit firm and slow compared to the past. I don’t know if it’s a question of money and strategy but so far no big Serie A players have shown interest.”

Ultimately, Jorginho’s future will depend on what’s best for him. While Arsenal‘s renewal offer is the current priority, the agent will carefully consider any proposals that arise.

The 32-year-old Italian arrived at Arsenal last January, costing the club €11.3m from Chelsea.

Since signing, he has played 25 games, scoring one and assisting one.

With Thomas Partey being permanently injured, Mikel Arteta has often turned to Jorginho’s experience for the ‘big’ games, with the midfielder starting against Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City.
