Former Gunner Tim Akinola seems keen on a return to Europe, but a couple of potential transfers appear to have fallen apart, according to reports.

Former Arsenal academy midfielder Tim Akinola completed a permanent transfer to Qatari second-division side Al-Bidda SC back in September, but the 22-year-old appears to be on the hunt for another move.

The BBC’s Rob Law reports that Akinola was on trial with Hartlepool recently, and the club offered him a deal, but he decided against it.

At the time, it was believed he was set to join a club in the Czech Republic.

Earlier this week, AllNigeriaSoccer reported that Akinola had landed in the Czech Republic ahead of a possible move to MFK Karviná. But it seems that move has also now fallen through.

According to the same source, Akinola held contract talks with Karviná, but that deal is now off.

It’s not clear what the future holds for Akinola, but it certainly seems like he’s looking to return to European football.

Akinola never played for the Arsenal first team, but he made well over 40 appearances for the academy in his three years with the club.

The 22-year-old spent some of that time out on loan with Dundee United and Chesterfield FC, before his permanent exit last summer.
