Almost a week after he made his scoring debut for his new side, Arsenal have finally announced the permanent exit of Tim Akinola.

  • Last week, Tim Akinola marked his debut for Al Bidda SC with two goals, contributing to a 4-1 win against Al Ahli SC.
  • Akinola turned down offers from various European clubs before signing a three-year contract with the Qatari side.
  • The midfielder’s departure from Arsenal signals his readiness to develop his professional career in a new setting.

Tim Akinola has already set his sights on a new chapter in Qatar as we waited for Arsenal to finally confirm his departure.

The midfielder was the catalyst in Al Bidda SC’s 4-1 victory over Al Ahli SC in a QFA Cup match last Tuesday.

Now, Arsenal have made their announcement.

Leaving Arsenal

After leaving North London last week, Tim Akinola has wasted no time making a name for himself at his new club, Al Bidda SC. The midfielder’s two-goal debut performance spearheaded a comprehensive 4-1 win against Al Ahli SC in the QFA Cup.

The 22-year-old reportedly declined offers from clubs across Europe, including England’s lower leagues as he entered the final year of his contract with Arsenal.

Before committing to a three-year contract with Al Bidda SC, Akinola also drew attention from teams in Romania, Denmark, Israel, and Austria.

With a debut like this, it seems Akinola will play a pivotal role in the Qatari club’s campaign this season.

His next potential appearance could be in the Qatargas League, where Al Bidda SC will face off against Al Sailiya on September 21.

Given his recent performance, he’s likely to be one of the first names on the team sheet.

The young midfielder, who previously had loan stints at Huddersfield Town and Lincoln City, is wearing the number 17 shirt at Al Bidda SC.

As he settles into his new role, the former Chesterfield loanee, whose popularity among fans could not secure a permanent move to the club due to the financials, will likely continue to rise as one of Qatar’s most watched talents this season.
