Lia Walti has consistently been impressive for the Arsenal Women in recent times, which perhaps explains why there has been some speculation about transfer interest in her lately.

One report suggested Real Madrid were in contact with Walti, holding discussions over an imminent move.

Walti won the 2023 Swiss Female Footballer of the Year award on Monday night, only adding to the focus on her, but she insisted afterwards that there’s nothing in the transfer rumours.

“I have absolutely no idea where the rumor came from,” Walti said.

“I am very satisfied and happy at Arsenal. I play in a top club and still have three years left on my contract there.”

Walti also won the Swiss Female Footballer of the Year award in 2021, and she was part of the PFA Team of the Year in 2018/19.

The Arsenal star first joined the club in 2018, and she’s been an important part of the team since then, making 135 appearances in all competitions.

The Swiss international signed a new contract in 2023, and despite the rumours, it seems she’s set to continue with her current club.
