Tyreece John-Jules picked up another injury in Derby County’s match against Reading on Tuesday, just days after extending his loan deal.
Arsenal’s Tyreece John-Jules came on as one of five second-half substitutes for Derby County on Tuesday night, as they chased the game away to Reading.
The hosts were leading the League One match 1-0, so it was an opportunity for Arsenal’s young loan forward to grab a goal and turn things around.
Instead, John-Jules ended up leaving his team with 10 men. He was forced out of action after Derby’s fifth substitution had already been made.
Derby report on their website that John-Jules was “forced off through injury”. There are no further details given on the nature of the problem.
The striker had taken a couple of shots and completed four of five attempted passes in his brief appearance before that, but he couldn’t help his side to avoid defeat.
John-Jules has already missed two months of the current campaign through injury, and it took him a while to break into the starting lineup with Derby after that.
The 22-year-old only made his first start on January 6th, but he did enough in his appearances to earn a loan extension.
The initial plan had been for John-Jules to go on loan until January, but Derby confirmed last week that they were extending the deal until the summer.
Just days after that announcement, John-Jules is left hoping he’s not set for another extended spell on the sidelines.
