Gabriel Magalhaes and Declan Rice are both expected to start against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night, after overcoming injury knocks.

In a worrying update in his final press conference before Arsenal’s trip to Nottingham Forest, Mikel Arteta confirmed that Declan Rice and Gabriel Magalhaes were doubts for the clash.

Arteta admitted that the pair would face late fitness tests, as they  each looked to overcome a recent knock.

But it seems both players have come through those final tests unscathed.

The Evening Standard reports that Rice is expected to have recovered from a hamstring niggle to start tonight, whilst Gabriel should overcome a knock to his knee to start as well.

That’s certainly good news for Arsenal, bringing the squad closer to its full complement.

Thomas Partey is not quite fit to make the squad at this stage, but he’s close now. Jurrien Timber and Fabio Vieira remain out, but they’re the only other two injury absentees at this stage.

Mohamed Elneny will soon be back from the Africa Cup of Nations, following Egypt’s elimination, though Takehiro Tomiyasu is still at the AFC Asian Cup, with Japan reaching the knockout stages.
