After a 10-day break, the Gunners return to Premier League action on Tuesday night with a trip to Nottingham Forest.

Let’s look at the latest injury updates from Mikel Arteta, as the squad seeks to bounce back and reignite their title charge.

Partey sidelined

While the Ghanaian midfielder has been back in training, he won’t be making the trip to Forest. Arteta confirmed, “We’ve got some late decisions to make. Thomas won’t be one of those. We are still uncertain with a few players. Thomas is not in the squad.”

The hope is that he could return for the clash against Liverpool next Sunday.

Rice & Gabriel on watch

A glimmer of hope shines on Declan Rice and Gabriel Magalhaes. Both limped out of the Crystal Palace game, but late fitness tests could determine their fate. Arteta offered cautious optimism, saying of Rice, “He’s done some work but he’s missed some work as well. Hopefully he’ll be OK.”

Gabriel received a knock to the knee, with Arteta acknowledging, “That’s the other one, yeah.”

If Rice and Gabriel can pull through, their defensive solidity and leadership would be a massive boost for the Gunners against Forest.

Elsewhere, good news arrives in the shape of Fabio Vieira. The Portuguese midfielder is nearing a behind-schedule return after undergoing groin surgery according to football.london, adding depth and creativity to the Arsenal midfield.

Timber’s long road

Jurrien Timber‘s recovery from an ACL injury picked up at the start of the season continues. While the Dutch defender’s return timeline remains uncertain, there’s hope he could make an appearance before the end of the campaign, strengthening Arsenal’s defensive options.

Squad depth a key factor

With the Premier League title race heating up and crucial Champions League battles on the horizon, Arsenal’s squad depth will be tested to the limit in the coming weeks. The potential return of any injured player offers Arteta valuable options to rotate and keep his team fresh.

Egypt are also out of AFCON, so Mohamed Elneny should be back with the squad soon.
