Amidst an injury ‘crisis’, Arsenal are reportedly considering the recall of Kieran Tierney from his loan at Real Sociedad, according to claims by The Express. However, doubts have been cast over the credibility of this source.

The Gunners, led by Mikel Arteta, are facing a challenging period with Oleksandr Zinchenko out due to a calf issue. This was highlighted by Arteta in a post-match discussion with reporters, where he mentioned Zinchenko’s calf problem and the need for further assessment. “We don’t know. He felt something in his calf. We will scan him tomorrow and see how far he’s going to miss games,” Arteta stated.

In response to this growing concern, The Express suggests that Arsenal might be tempted to bring back Tierney, who is on loan at Real Sociedad. The 26-year-old left-back moved to Spain last summer, aiming to regain form. Since then, he has made eight appearances in La Liga and featured twice in the Champions League after a hamstring injury ruled him out for nine games.

However, the reliability of The Express as a source for this information is rightfully being questioned.

There have been doubts raised about the validity of their claim regarding Arsenal‘s intentions with Tierney with the report’s accuracy and trustworthiness are under scrutiny, casting uncertainty over the possibility of Tierney’s early return to the Emirates.

Jakub Kiwior, who started in place of Zinchenko in Arsenal‘s recent 2-1 defeat against Fulham, was substituted at halftime for Takehiro Tomiyasu.

However, the defensive efforts were not enough to prevent goals from Raul Jimenez and Bobby Decordova-Reid and Tomiyasu will now miss the next four-to-six weeks as he plays for Japan at the AFC Asian Games in Qatar.
