Arsenal, led by Mikel Arteta, have reportedly set their sights on AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori.

Despite his current injury, the England international is highly coveted by the Gunners for his proven track record in Serie A.

Arsenal, under the guidance of manager Mikel Arteta, are keen on reinforcing their defensive line, with AC Milan‘s central defender Fikayo Tomori reportedly emerging as a prime target.

The Gunners’ interest in Tomori, an England international, has grown despite his current recovery from a hamstring injury that will sideline him for two months.

Tomori, who initially joined Milan on loan in the 2020-21 season from Chelsea, made a significant impact at San Siro.

His contributions were pivotal in Milan’s Serie A title win during his first full season at the club, and he has notched six goals and one assist in 129 appearances.

Following his loan spell, Milan secured his services permanently in the summer of 2022 for £27.2 million.

Arteta, recognising Tomori’s talents and potential, has reportedly personally identified him as an ideal addition to Arsenal’s defence. The 26-year-old’s connection to London, where he previously played for Chelsea, is seen as an advantage for Arsenal in the transfer battle, despite interest from other top European clubs like Bayern Munich.

Despite Tomori being tied to a long-term contract with AC Milan, which has three and a half years remaining, Arsenal remain determined to pursue him. Milan’s reluctance to part with Tomori, owing to his importance and recent form, makes a move in the upcoming January transfer window seem unlikely.

Arsenal’s immediate transfer market focus is on strengthening the left-back position due to a current shortage.

This has led to speculation around Jakub Kiwior, with rumours suggesting possible interest from Serie A clubs including Milan and Roma. However, Arsenal are expected to reject offers for Kiwior in January.
