Jorrel Hato, the 17-year-old defender who recently became the youngest ever captain of Ajax, has reportedly drawn significant attention from Arsenal following his performance against AEK Athens.

The club, alongside other top European teams like Atlético Madrid, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Chelsea, AC Milan, Liverpool, and Borussia Dortmund, are reportedly considering a move for Hato in the upcoming transfer window.

The interest in Hato has been heightened after his impressive display in Ajax’s 3-1 victory over AEK Athens on Thursday evening. This performance not only solidified his position at Ajax but also caught the eye of Arsenal scouts.

However, securing Hato’s transfer to Arsenal may be challenging, as he is currently in discussions with Ajax about a new contract.

Arsenal, to successfully sign Hato, would need to consider a substantial transfer fee.

According to FootballTransfers, Hato’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV), despite his age, is around €22.3 million.

Hato’s value has seen a significant increase from €5.9 million before this season started, a strong nod to both his Ajax performances and his call-up to the Dutch national team.

Hato’s current contract with Ajax runs until the summer of 2025. Ajax are keen to extend this contract as soon as possible, with journalist and Ajax watcher Mike Verweij expressing optimism about Hato’s willingness to stay.

“Then that will work out,” said Verweij in Kick-Off of De Telegraaf. Verweij also noted that Hato’s salary would likely see a considerable increase due to his status as one of the club’s great talents.
