Arsenal are extremely unlikely to consider any January interest from AC Milan in Jakub Kiwior, according to a report.

James Benge reports for CBS Sports that sources claim it’s extremely unlikely Arsenal would seriously consider interest from AC Milan in the signing of Jakub Kiwior in January.

Given Arsenal’s defensive shortage at the moment, it’s expected that Kiwior could be called upon to play a significant role for the team in the coming weeks.

This follows a similar claims from the Evening Standard earlier this month, who wrote that Arsenal are expected to rebuff approaches for Kiwior in January, with no plans to let the defender go in the winter window.

With Takehiro Tomiyasu’s ongoing injury problems and Jurrien Timber still out, Arsenal are very short at centre-back.

Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba are the starting duo for Mikel Arteta, and it would take a lot to change that. But Kiwior is clearly the first player in line whenever either of the players in front of him need a rest.

Italian outlets recently claimed that Napoli’s defensive issues are making it increasingly clear that they need a new signing at centre-back, and Kiwior is top of their list.

Intermediaries are reportedly working on the deal, and we’ve heard similar things about AC Milan, with other outlets claiming Milan are also in talks over the player.

But English sources appear to have reached a consensus that the Polish international isn’t for sale next month.
