England now know their route to a potential u17 World Cup final, with Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly hoping to lead them there.

England secured progression to the knockout stages of the u17 World Cup in top spot despite defeat to Brazil in their final group game last week, having thrashed New Caledonia 10-0 and beaten Iran 2-1 in their other two fixtures.

Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly featured heavily in the opening two games, with Lewis-Skelly providing an assist and winning a penalty, whilst Nwaneri scored one and assisted one.

The duo then played substitute roles against Brazil, helping England to score the one goal they needed to top the group even in defeat.

With the remaining group games all having been played, England now know their route to a potential final in December.

England will start with a game against Uzbekistan, who finished third in their group behind Spain and Mali. The round-of-16 clash will take place on November 22nd at 08:30 GMT.

The winners of that game will take on France or Senegal in the quarter-finals on November 25th at 08:30 GMT.

If England make it through that clash, they’ll play in the semi-finals on November 28th at 12:00 GMT, against one of Mali, Mexico, Morocco, or Iran.

Then the final will take place on December 2nd at 12:00 GMT, with Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Spain, Germany, and the United States on the other side of the knockout bracket as potential final opponents.

In other Arsenal youth news, Amario Cozier-Duberry impressed in a substitute appearance for the England u19s against Japan, setting up one chance that was cleared off the line and hitting the post with an effort of his own.

Lino Sousa started that friendly match, which finished 3-2 to England.

Brooke Norton-Cuffy was in the squad for the England u21s’ 3-0 win over Serbia, but he didn’t make it onto the pitch.
