Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly impressed for England in their opening u17 World Cup thrashing of New Caledonia.

England kicked off their u17 World Cup campaign with a 10-0 win over New Caledonia on Saturday morning, and Arsenal duo Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri had a large part to play in the result.

Lewis-Skelly started the match in midfield, and he helped England to one of four first-half goals, setting up Tyler Dibling for 3-0.

Lewis-Skelly then drew a red card as Nolhann Alebate struck out at him in pursuit of the ball, giving England an even easier second half.

In the 61st minute, Lewis-Skelly came off and Nwaneri entered the field, and it was the substitute who scored England’s next goal, curling an effort into the top corner.

Nwaneri then turned provider, looping a cross into the box for Harrison Murray-Campbell to head home.

Finley McAllister added one more goal in injury time to make it 10-0, ensuring England had the most emphatic start to the group stage they could have dreamed of.

Brazil play Iran in the other group game on Saturday at 12:00 GMT.

England will then play Iran on November 14th and Brazil on November 17th, will both games also set for 12:00 GMT.
