AC Milan and AS Roma have attempted to pursue a loan move for Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior in January, but the Gunners are currently refusing to let him go.
Daniele Longo reports for Calciomercato that AC Milan are continuing their search for defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window, and they’ve recently tested the waters for Jakub Kiwior.
AS Roma have also made an attempt to sign Kiwior, proposing a loan deal. But Arsenal are not open to any kind of negotiation, at least for now.
Luca Bianchin of Gazzetta had also previously reported that Kiwior was a player of interest for Milan.
Kiwior was reportedly someone Milan kept an eye on during his time in Serie A, and the club now want to sign him.
The centre-back was also linked with a move to Sevilla earlier this month, with reports claiming the Spanish club attempt to sign him on loan.
But Mikel Arteta refused to allow the transfer to go through, so Kiwior remained in north London for the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
Funnily enough, Arsenal then drew Sevilla in the Champions League group stage.
Kiwior has made eight appearances for Arsenal so far this season, consisting of four starts and four late substitute showings.
The Poland international has generally impressed for his club in those cameos, and he’s also a regular for his country, playing the full 90 in every Poland international in 2023 – eight matches.
Arsenal certainly seem unlikely to let Kiwior leave permanently just a year after signing him.
