Gabriel Jesus played 90 minutes for Brazil on his return from injury on Tuesday night, appearing to come through the match unscathed.

Brazil took on Argentina in a fiery encounter on Tuesday night, a match that Arsenal probably would’ve hoped to keep Gabriel Jesus away from.

The striker was only just returning from injury, making his first appearance in almost a month, but he was thrown straight into the action with a start against bitter rivals Argentina.

After just five minutes, the Arsenal man had a yellow card, but despite the booking and the fact he was only just back fit, he ended up completing the full 90 minutes of a 1-0 defeat.

Charles Watts reports that Jesus appears to have come through the match unscathed, which is the good news for Mikel Arteta.

But after 90 minutes on Tuesday night in Brazil, a start back in England away to Brentford on Saturday would appear to be out of the question.

Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli both started the match as well, and from an Arsenal point of view, it was good to see they both came off early.

Gabriel left the pitch in the 72nd minute, Martinelli in the 78th, and we’ll have to wait and see whether that gave them enough of a rest to start the Brentford game.

Assuming Jesus isn’t ready to make another start at the weekend, Leandro Trossard should be ready to make the lineup instead.

Trossard had a positive spell away with Belgium over the international break, and he scored in their final game of the break on Sunday, giving him six days to recover.
